One of a pair of matching candlesticks with molded circular black stone base with spreading circular foot with elongated lotus-petal reeding, partial baluster stem with a compressed round knop molded with two Grecian style handles and two palmettes on edge supporting seated winged sphinxes with Egyptomizing headdresses supporting footed urns with recessed scroll and palmette decoration, which act as sockets.
