Gallery Label:
American iron porringers are very rare. An example similar to this one is at Old Sturbridge Village (see publications). Identical porringers marked "Kenrick" are found in America, manufactured by Archibald Kendrick of West Bromwich, England. The distinctive openwork fanribbed handle of the Kenrick was probably copied by American founders. The N-YHS example, however, bears no markings that clearly identify the maker or the place of manufacture.
