Description: 
Porcelain tea set decorated with the insignia of the Society of the Cincinnati and monogram of Samuel Shaw; punch bowl; gilt and black wave border and floral sprigs; enamelled wreath and eagle holding roundel of agricultural figure (emblem of the Society of the Cincinnati) appears twice above cipher of Samuel Shaw.

Molded bulbous white-bodied pitcher with six facets, shell motif in low relief under spout, broken scrolled handle printed and hand-colored painted surface with view of a stone fortress on water connected to shore by bridge with American flag above, sailing ships and soldiers around; aslo spread eagle on shield with crossed laurel and olive branches encircled by stars either side; crossed American flags with laurel and olive branches under spout; trimmed with hand-painted gold.

Tureen with gild pine cone knop and interlacing reeded handles terminating in berry and leaf sprays; border pattern composed of a gilded band at the rim, bounded within by a blue enamel band, which in turn is bounded by a gilded iron red band; within this is a gold, scalloped line into blue diamonds at each point; the secondary border is composed of interlaced bands of blue and gold husks and a plain gold vine; at the center of each side of the tureen and the cover is a floral spray.
