Meriden Britannia Co. acquired the Rogers Brothers Co. and began producing sterling flatware with the "1847 ROGERS BROS" stamp ca.1878-1880. When International Silver Co. succeeded the Meriden Britannia Co. (ca.1898) they continued to produced wares with the "1847 ROGERS BROS", though they did not include their own company stamp on wares until after 1928. (see Noel D.
