Wrought silver teapot in the Federal style; oval, boat-shaped body with gadrooning around the lower half; die-rolled grape-leaf band applied below the convex shoulder; vertically applied rope molding rim; seated on a rectangular molded foot with a vertically applied grape-leaf footring; hinged oval lid, raised in the center to a rectangular platform surmounted by a cast lamb finial; s-curve spout with a notched lip; squared strap handle fitted with ebony insulators; top of handle engraved, "Arthur J Starr/ 1903" in script; maker's mark on base.
