Description:
A ceramic or porcelain doll's head wearing a hat marked "Liberty", painted with a natural colored face, rosy cheeks, brown hair and blue eyes. The hat is outlined in red with a blue plume. Around the neck is a blue collar with three white stars. "Liberty" is engraved and highlighted with gold. One the reverse, faintly, "APD MF. Co.". See also 2002.1.2145 for an unpainted version. With documentation from aquisition, used to promote Liberty Bonds during WWI and found by son in manufacturer's Bronx loft 1987.

A child's writing and drawing slate. One side has a black slate and a glass window. The reverse has clips for holding drawing behind the window for tracing, and a space behind the slate for storing more drawings. The back has a paper label that reads "New Reversible Slate, With three seperate[sic] parts for drawing./ Great Combination, Secured by three Patents, 29th June 1878, re-issue granted and Patent applied for. C.C. Shepherd, New York".

A tiny calendar for the year 1902 also used for carrying stamps. The cover is red textured paper stamped in gold "Year 1902". The inside pages read, in part, "Compliments of/ H.Hicks & Son/ 1179 Broadway/ New York", with a detailed drawing of a liquor bottle on the next page that reads "Antediluvian Rye/The Aristocratic Whiskey..... Petite Calendar and Stamp Case 1902", with a page for every month, phases of the moon and specially treated brown paper pages in the center for mounting stamps.
