A scroll like advertisment for an amateur circus. It is printed in black with drawings of people on horses, acrobats, clowns, dogs and harlequins and reads in black and red, in part, "Programme of Amatuer Circus at 'Pleasance' May 3rd, 1889/ Ring Master, H.N. Potter./ 1 Grande Entree and Quadrille/ 2 Great High and Lofty Tumbling Act/ 3 The Countryman's Visit [clown act]/ 4 The Celebrated Baby Clown Elephant 'Mac', 5 Les Echelles [trapeze act]...". Fifteen different acts are listed with names of performers and description of the act. Brass rods form the top and bottom of the scroll.
