A beige pinback button printed with a state seal, crest, symbol or motto from U.S. states and territories; marked "Delaware", with a shield topped by a square rigged sailing ship, flanked by a soldier and a farmer over a red banner "Liberty and Independence". Part of a series of pre-World War I United States state buttons; some of the region names are no longer current. The reverse is printed "Sweet Caporal Cigarette", indicating that this button was part of a series of collectible premiums given by tobacco and gum this button was part of a series of collectible premiums given by tobacco and gum manufacturers.
