Description:
Doll with ceramic shoulder head, brown hair wig detached from bald head, painted blue eyes, closed mouth, and red tinted cheeks; stuffed cloth body with divided arm composed of stuffed cloth upper arm sewn on to ceramic lower arm and molded hand, divided leg with stuffed upper leg sewn on to ceramic lower leg; green and white dress with short sleeves and lace trim at neck over plain petticoat and embroidered knickers.

Doll with bisque shoulder head, brown curly wig detached from pate, brown glass sleeping eyes, open mouth, and tinted face; stuffed kid body with divided arm composed of stuffed kid upper arm, bisque lower arm, and molded fingers, gusseted thighs and knees; lace robe over long pink satin dress extending several inches past doll's feet, white petticoat and knickers with lace trim, black stockings, and black leather shoes with laces.

Doll with white bisque shoulder head, molded hair, blue painted eyes, closed mouth, and pink tinted cheeks; stuffed cloth body with divided arm consisting of stuffed cloth upper arm and bisque lower arm with molded hand and leg with hip and knee joints formed by stitching; red dress with off-the-shoulder neckline, bouffant sleeves with lace cuffs, gathered waist, and narrow braid attached above hem, over ruffled petticoat with lace trim.

The figures represented by this topsy-turvy doll come from Harriet Beecher Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" published in 1852. Topsy is a slave girl and Little Eva is from a white slave-owning family.
