Copper struck medal with obverse showing full-length figure of Vernon, standing on platform and holding baton in right hand; cannon at left, ship at right; legend within line border: "THE BRITISH GLORY REVIV D BY ADMIRAL VERNON." Reverse depicts group of vessels entering harbor with tower on either side; date in exergue: "NOV. 22. 1739"; surrounding legend: "WHO TOOK PORTO BELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY."
