Bronze struck rectangular plaquette with obverse showing shoulder-length portrait of Vespucci, facing right, with a chart, studying first published map of the New World coasts bearing the name "America"; seal of American Numismatic Society with date "1903" and inscription: "AMERIGO VESPUCCI" at lower right. Reverse depicts mapmaker with projection globe including the New World, winds, and Earth's surface below.
