White silk ribbon embroidered with two crossed American flags, and printed in gold ink with: "VETERAN FIREMEN'S/ASSOCIATION/OF THE/CITY OF NEW YORK/AT THE/DEDICATION OF THE MONUMENT/SEPT. 6, 1897/IN MEMORY OF THEIR COMRADES/KILLED ON THE/BATTLEFIELD OF GETTYSBURG/JULY 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD 1863"; pin at top consisting of coated paper printed with "GUEST" inside brass frame; gold metal fringing at bottom.
