Bronze medal suspended from bar with pin back; circular medal depicting a fort and lighthouse on obverse, inscribed "SPANISH CAMPAIGN" across top and the year "1898" along the bottom; eagle with chain and anchor and wreath on reverse, inscribed "UNITED STATES NAVY and "FOR SERVICE"; red and yellow silk ribbon connects bar and medal.
