Description:
Oval porcelain basket stand with reticulated rim and decorated with a plain gold band at the rim and well and the initials "I.G." in script in the center.
Gallery Label:
This stand was made for Isaac Gouverneur (1749-1800), a New York merchant. It may have been presented to him as a gift for his fiftieth birthday as part of a dessert service.
