Description:
Ship's binnacle; conical brass housing with two oval doors that open to reveal compass; mounted on cylindrical wooden column with two spherical iron weights, two attached lanterns with cylindrical brass covers (to illuminate compass), maker's plaque and a circular brass and glass level to gauge list of ship; opposite side is a cylindrical brass map case; all on wooden platform.
