Description:
Steel, antler, and tin bowie knife; single-edged steel blade with oval tin quillon and antler grips; rounded, triangular brown leather scabbard with two sides riveted together, belt loop sewn to top of back, and stamped six-petal flowers and branches on front.
Gallery Label:
According to a note found with the object, this bowie knife was used on a ranch in Montaina in 1893, and in Cuba and the Philippine Islands as part of the donor's personal field equipment.
