Description:
Circular two-piece box with horn top and bottom covered by beadwork; top has blue and red beaded star in center with circles of blue and red beads radiating outwards; bottom has circles of blue and red beads in radiating pattern.
Gallery Label:
This beaded box was probably owned by Mrs. John (Harriet Moore Francis) Rogers, Jr. (1841-1927), wife of the sculptor John Rogers. They lived in New York until 1877, when they established their residence in New Canaan, CT.
