Description:
Brown leather bridle with brow band attached to a large bit with metal medallions on either side showing the profile of an eagle in relief at the jowls; leather reins attached to the bit.
Gallery Label:
This bridle was used by Major General James Barnes during the Civil War at the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1-3, 1863. He was the grandfather of the owner.
