Description:
Molded porcelain tea set consisting of four cake plates; all pieces are hand painted with blue scalloped borders with sets of two peach flowers and gold outlines with gold stylized floral and foliate sprays, grapes, palmettes; holloware forms have additional band of undulating vine with leaves and flowers, in gold and gold flourishes on handles.
Gallery Label:
According to the donor, the tea set belonged to Elizabeth (Weaver) Greenwood (1764-1831), wife of Dr. John Greenwood. The printed "SPODE" with pattern number was used from 1790-1820; the printed mark "C" was used from 1815-1827.
