Description:
Silver cake server in "Oriental" pattern with engraved and pierced flat blade and pointed oval-end handle with upturned tip; handle stem is beaded along obverse; obverse of blade is ornamented with interlaced scrolls and Moresque motifs; stamped with maker's mark along reverse of handle stem.
Gallery Label:
The "Oriental" pattern was designed by John Polhamus (active 1833-1875) and Henry Hebbard (active 1847-1877) and patented July 3, 1855.
