Description:
Applewood Chippendale style candlestand with oval top on tripod pedestal base consisting of vase-and-ring-turned column supported on serpentine legs and snake feet.
Gallery Label:
This candlestand was made by Peter Jellemie, the grandfather of Governor William Sulzer (1863-1941) of New York and husband of the donor. Sulzer's mother was Lydia Jellemie of Passaic, NJ.
