Description:
Cast, seamed and wrought Sheffield plate candlestick; tapered conical shaft with molded acanthus leaf decoration around the bottom; applied, cast convex shoulder with chased acanthus scrolls and spiral gadrooning around the edge and a baluster neck, supporting a cast socket with a globular lower body with molded acanthus decoration, a cylindrical neck, and a molded rim; circular, cast bobeche with an applied, chased foliate, shell and gadrooned rim; shaft set on a cast circular foot with a band of chased foliate, shell and gadrooning; pedestal raised in the center to a squat, globular knop covered in molded acanthus leaves; base weighted; no maker's marks.
