Oval bronze struck medal with obverse depicting nude bust of Chester Arthur with legend: "CHESTER A. ARTHUR/PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES/1881". Reverse depicts settler and Native American in front of log cabin and farm scene; wreath encircling crossed peace pipe and tomahawk below exergual line; inscription: "PEACE" above scene.
