Description:
White metal struck medal with obverse showing central image of eagle perched upon American shield laid on rock, holding serpent in its claws; surrounding inscription: "HONOR TO THE BRAVE/ILLUSTRIOUS DEEDS A NATIONS PRIDE." Reverse shows blank space for engraving at center, surrounded by open laurel wreath, with surrounding legend: "FROM THE WAR FUND COMMITTEE OF BROOKLYN NEW-YORK/1863."
