Description:
Dark blue wool Naval officer's double-breasted coat with double collar and lapels; 3 buttons down each side of the front, buttons cast with an eagle perched on an anchor set above 3 cannon balls; closed sleeves (no cuffs), 2 bands of gilt lacing around each wrist, with a 5-pointed star above; vertical slit pocket on the front at each hip; 2 panels at the back of the bodice; coat lined with black silk, sleeves lined with white silk, vertical slit pocket at each breast, 3 plastic buttons along the right side inside.

This coat was worn by H. Maxson Holloway, who served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II, from 1943-1945.
