Circular coin box with photograph of the birthplace of Marquis de Lafayette on obverse beneath the words "WILL YOU HELP TO REPAY OUR DEBT TO FRANCE?"

According to the donor, this box was used to collect donations to be used for the restoration of Lafayette's birthplace as a "memorial to Franco-American Friendship and a home for victims of war."
