Steel carbine; stamped marks on left side of frame and topstrap.

This carbine was found on the Civil War battlefield at Chickamaugua, Georgia. The Battle of Chickamaugua was fought on September 19 and 20, 1863, and resulted in a victory for Confederate forces under General Bragg.
