Description:
Plastic contact lens case with two circular holders having screw tops; one top is blue, the other white. With two glass contact lens bottles with plastic cork tops and paper labels.
Gallery Label:
Contact lenses, first manufactured in Europe in the 1890s, were readily obtainable by the mid-20th century. Despite great advances in contact lenses, from thick pieces of glass to tiny, feather-weight bits of plastic, conventional eyeglasses are still preferred by a majority of Americans.
