Description:
Cast silver creamer in the Georgian melon pattern; round, squat body with chased lobes decorated with a foliate scroll design; on four cast legs attached to the body with trefoils dropping into paw feet; convex shoulder flared to a scalloped extended pouring lip and rim with applied cast gadrooning; simple, seamed scrolled silver handle; engraved, "A T M" in script on the side front, and "November 10th 1897" in script on the base; makers' marks on base.

This creamer was a wedding gift to the donor's parents, Alice Townsend Martin, whose initials are engraved on the service, and Benjamin Brandreth McAlpin, on November 10, 1897.
