Description:
Wrought silver creamer; helmet-shaped body with a high, extended pouring lip, low sides and a high back at the handle juncture; applied; reeded band around the rim; on an oval stepped base with a plain, applied and seamed footring; high, reeded, loop handle tapering at the bottom and incurved over the angled shoulder at the upper body joint; bright-cut shield reserve engraved, "S D S" in bright-cut script, surmounted by the Dahlgren family arms, a plant growing in a flower pot; makers' marks on the base.
