Description:
Rectangular triptych picture framed carved from animal bone and housing three tintype photographs of young women with gilt-metal oval mats.
Gallery Label:
A handwritten note on the back of this frame states that it was carved by a Union soldier while confined in Libby prison during the "Rebellion" (Civil War). Libby prison was a notorious Confederate prison situated on the James River in Richmond, Virginia.
