Bronze struck medal with obverse showing clothed bust of Daniel Fox facing three-quarters to the left with legend: "DANIEL M. FOX"; all within beaded border. Reverse contains inscription within oak and laurel wreath: "MAYOR/OF/PHILADELPHIA/1869-1872/MEMBER OF THE/U.S.POSTAL COMMISSION/APPOINTED BY THE/PRESIDENT 1876/ALSO OF THE/CENTENNIAL BOARD/OF FINANCE/SUPT. U.S.MINT/PHILADELPHIA/JULY 1885."
