Description:
silver desert fork with a downturned oval handle with a foliate design around a rectangular reserve engraved, "EEG" in script; four curved tines; makers' marks stamped on the underside of the handle.
Gallery Label:
EEG is Emma Elizabeth Gilder (b. 1861), the aunt of the donor (Louise S. Gilder). Emma was a sister of Louise's father, William Howard Gilder (b. 1857, Maryland).
