Cream and gold silk brocade in a floral pattern dress (after a Dolley Madison costume at the Smithsonian); round open neckline; short fitted sleeves with a floral and leaf pattern machine-made bobbin lace oversleeve; v-pointed waistline into a round skirt open at the back to the waist; opening and skirt bottom trimmed with the same lace used on the sleeves; metal hook and eye fasteners up the back.
