Dried flowers (4) from the funeral car of President Abraham Lincoln, 1865, folded in paper.
Gallery Label:
After President Abraham Lincoln's assassination on April 15, 1865, his funeral train arrived in New York City early on April 24. The cortège followed a route from Desbrosses Street to City Hall Park, and Lincoln's body lay in state at City Hall from 1 p.m. until noon the next day, when the cortège traveled up Broadway to the depot of the Hudson River Railroad.
