Description:
Pair of wire hook earrings made of metal in the form of pansies, painted with purple and yellow enamel.
Gallery Label:
It was a popular custom among women in the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to give pansies to other women to signify a bond of friendship. These earrings may have been such a gift.
