Description:
Pair of ivory earings with metal finding at the top (no hook or screw); Egyptian-revival style with elongated urns which come to a point at the bottom tip.
Gallery Label:
The opening of the Suez Canal in 1863, and the later discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1923 influenced the Egyptian-revival style in jewelry design.
