Edith Russell, the daughter of Samuel Hammond Russell of Boston, became the third wife of Sir Lyon Playfair (1819-98), the first Baron Playfair of Saint Andrews, in 1878. The Playfairs lived in England. Lady Playfair married Robert Fleming Crooks in 1901.
