Description:
Epaulet with gold textile strap with straight sides and triangular tab end with buttonhole, small sequin-covered crescent, and gold fringe with lengths of 1/4 inch bullion mixed with finer strands.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession records, this epaulet was worn by Alexander Clinton (1765-1787) while serving as an aide to his uncle, Governor George Clinton of New York, during the latter part of the Revolutionary War.
