Description:
Pair of first lieutenant's epaulets; rigid, gold lace-covered strap with one silver embroidered bar, and a gilded metal button embossed with a shield-breasted eagle, the shield bearing the initial "A"; circular patch with "10" embroidered in black on light blue wool ground inside gilded brass crescent; two layers of gold bullion fringe measuring approximately 2 3/4 inches in length and 1/8 inch in diameter; padded red velvet lining and brass channel fastener with spring mounted hook.

According to the accession records, these epaulets belonged to the donor's father, Major Thomas D. Mosscrop, who wore them as a lieutenant.
