Description:
Pair of epaulets with black synthetic fiber shoulder knots with a button at the collar end, blue-gray wool felt ground (no insignia), twisted cotton cord fringe; reverse lined with brown oil-treated cotton.

These epaulettes are part of a uniform worn by F. L. Betts when he served in Company D of the New York National Guard.
