Description:
Pair of epaulets covered with gilt lacing, 1/2" bulion around the outer end; ends lined with blue velvet, boards lined with brown leather, metal loops at the corners of the leather to attach epaulets to garment.
Gallery Label:
These epaulets were worn by Philip Schuyler (1788-1865) when he served as U.S. Consul to Liverpool while under President Van Buren.
