Description:
Pair of black wool epaulets with white worsted wool fringe, button at the collar end; reverse lined with dark brown twill-weave cotton, a metal hook at the collar end.

These epaulets were worn by Henry Pearl Talmadge while he served as a Private in Company K, 7th Regiment New York National Guard, 1870-1877.
