Tortoise shell brisé fan with blades joined by brown ribbon.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession records, this fan belonged to the wife of writer and preacher Moncure D. Conway (1832-1907). Conway was the author of "Life of Thomas Paine" (1892), editor of Paine's works, and one of the first Unitarian ministers in New York.
