Description:
This hand fan is made of paper with a wood handle. One side has a cartoon in blue of a man in a bowler at a convention holding a campaign sign while everyone else reads newspapers. This side reads "In Philadelphia..nearly everybody reads The Bulletin/ Evening and Sunday". The reverse reads in blue "Welcome Delegates! National News, World Events/ Convention News, Sports/ Complete...Accurate in/ The Evening Bulletin/ The Sunday Bulletin". From the 1948 Democratic National Convention-this fan has hand written talleys of votes for Truman and for his opponent Russell as well as notes on various states and other candidates.
