Description:
Fan with ivory guards and sticks with incised and painted decoration; ivory-colored silk leaf with painted baskets of flowers, wreaths, and garlands, and scalloped edge and cut-out sections outlined with metal (gold-colored) sequins; brass handle.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession records, this fan was made by J. E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia, but this cannot be confirmed. The fan was used by the donor at her debut in 1910.
