Description: 
Dark blue wool single-breasted field blouse ("sack coat"); double collar with square corners, 5 buttons down the front with 2 snaps at the bottom, closed sleeves (no cuffs) with 3 buttons at the wrists, evidence of single chevron on the upper portion of sleeves; 4 panels at the back; vertical interior slit pockets on both sides, blouse lined with twill-weave wool.

According to military expert Bruce Bazelon, this field coat dates to the time of Spanish-American War. This coat is from Company C, 6th Regiment of the New York State militia.
