Description: 
Medium blue wool field trousers with dark blue stripe down the side of each leg; front button fly with 4 buttons down the center, with a tab at the top which fastens to a button inside to the left at the waistband; suspender buttons around waistband; slit watch pocket under waistband, side slit pockets at the back edge of the stripes, right rear horizontal slit pocket; below waistband at the back is one strap extant; waistband, pockets and fly lined with white linen; all button unmarked.

According to military expert Bruce Bazelon, these trousers date to sometime around the Spanish-American War. It was part of a uniform from Company C, 6th Regiment of the New York state militia.
