Description:
Light aquamarine lead glass bottle blown in a full-sized, three-part mold (McKearin GI-100) embossed with a profile portrait bust of Lajos Kossuth with the inscription, "KOSSUTH" on the obverse with a bust of Jenny Lind framed in a wreath with the inscription, "JENNY LIND" on the reverse; bottle is calabash-shaped, with an applied and tooled collar and a pontil mark on the bottom.
Gallery Label:
Jenny Lind, the famed soprano from Sweden, and Lajos Kossuth, leader of the failed Hungarian Revolution of 1848-1850, both toured the United States in 1851-1852. Both were incredibly popular with the American public, and both were commemorated with numerous souvenirs depicting their likenesses.
