Black leather frontpiece from a fire helmet; shield shape cut out at center and backed with gold painted leather with "VI" in black leather appliqué; "V. . . ILAN. . . [VIGILANT?]" and "ENGINE" in applied, gold painted leather lettering on recessed grounds at top and bottom.
